The Danish Association of the DeafBlind is cooperating with similar organisation in other countries to improve the conditions for deaf-blind people by exchanging ideas and methods that are found useful in the individual countries.
The Danish Association of the DeafBlind is in collaboration with the deaf-blind associations in the Nordic countries called The DeafBlind’s Nordic Cooperation Committee, which is represented by Sweden, Iceland, Norway, Finland and Denmark. The committee strives to improve the conditions for deaf-blind people through a joint effort.
The DeafBlind’s Nordic Cooperation Committee has also founded the European Deafblind Union, EDBU. The focus in this union is as well to develop cooperation between the associations of deaf-blind in European countries and to improve the quality of life for deaf-blind people.
The membership is restricted to those associations of deaf-blind whose decisions are made by deaf-blind people themselves.
